BUBBLE GUN™ AERATORS

We have a state of the art aeration system for ponds. It’s the BUBBLE GUN™ Pneumatic Aeration System! It’s quiet and has NO moving parts, and NO electricity in the water. This means that the unit is relatively maintenance free and does not pose an in-the-water electrocution hazard.
It’s important to aerate your pond because it keeps fish from dying during the summer months when there is a tendency for ponds to "turn over". The additional oxygen in the water helps to keep the water freer from algae and promotes healthier fish which grow faster.

It’s important to aerate your pond because it keeps fish from dying during the summer months when there is a tendency for ponds to "turn over". The additional oxygen in the water helps to keep the water free from algae and promotes healthier fish which grow faster.

This 110-volt system has the best quality air compressor we have found over decades of field-testing dozens of units. We made the first BUBBLE GUN™ in 1967. The air compressor we now use is a highly efficient 1/8th hp piston drive. This style compressor is far less prone to require maintenance than diaphragm-type units. This makes our BUBBLE GUN™ economical to deploy yet powerful enough aerate a 5-acre pond.

Diffuser HoseThe compressor is attached to our specially engineered 50 foot air hose which is very dense and self-sinking. The system uses a flexible diffuser nozzle that efficiently disperses oxygen into the water from the bottom up. The diffuser has a built- in check valve that prevents backflow of water. Stone diffusers, unlike our flexible unit, plug up with intermittent use. Our BUBBLE GUN™ diffuser does not plug up! To be clear, only the air hose and flexible diffuser are placed in the pond or water hazard.

Our diffuser is infinitely better than stone type diffusers that lie on the bottom of the pond and mix mud and fish feces with the water. Our flexible bubble diffuser naturally suspends itself about 12 to 18 inches from the bottom and does not get plugged up if for any reason the power goes off. BUBBLE GUN™ diffusers do not have to be cleaned or replaced.

The flexible diffuser is placed under water in the deepest water available. The oxygen-carrying air that is pumped into the pond goes from the bottom upward and disperses throughout the pond. The oxygen travels from the lowest depth upward and uses density-weight-differential to effectively disperse the oxygen throughout the entire pond. Since there are no moving parts in the water, this unit can be run in climates with freezing temperatures. Not only does the device add oxygen during freezing weather, it also keeps open water all around the bubble path of the system. We first used a prototype BUBBLE GUN™ in a large pond in Indiana where the temperatures got lower than 24 degrees below zero. The BUBBLE GUN™ kept water open during the coldest temperatures.

Artificial Stone Cover Pump Hut Cover The compressor unit must be placed under a small cover such as an artificial stone to protect it from the elements. Artificial stones that cover the unit can be made of fiberglass or plastic. Any covering, however, does need to be ventilated allowing air to circulate freely around the compressor to keep it cool. The BUBBLE GUN™ system can be run in climates that have sub-zero temperatures because there are no propellers or surface components to freeze and break if the unit is turned off. We recommend running the system continuously.
